Very lonely. The large black shadows add a lot to the mood of this piece.

nobody is weird.. its just a word to discriminate people who others find different from them.

Perhaps by adding some radiosity to the edges of the shadows (bloom/blur) they would increase the contrast even more.

As it is, this is a great image...just a little unrefined. (I aknowledge by saying that, I completly suck at digital colors, and could not really reach this level of skill without quite a bit more practice.)

oooh, the lighting and pers is done really well here...the corrior kinda reminds me of a scene from bluesub six which is cool (nostagia vaule fer me yay) hmmm but some of your more recent stuff is becoming a little static, probably from to much flatz maybe, i dunno how you'd got about it, but beefing out some of the designs and stuff would make a piece like this have a bit more gravity (lookit stuff like ye olde doom3 and blame etc maybe)?

of course i could be typing with my butt so (shrugs)

also...gah i think you should really stop calling these things paint 'practice'...i make's them sound like they are less important than the are ^__^

Well at current they are truthfully practice pieces that I'm using to test my understanding of various methods. A lot of what goes on with these trends to simpler shapes and compositions because they serve as clear reference to my understanding of the techniques I'm employing. As a learning artist I find that one of the most important things to growing my skillset is to have a clear picture of what it is I'm capable of doing. You can only step outside your comfort zone by first defining what it is and vice versa :)

I too prefer to gravitate to very complex designs, but having done so for many years I feel I've neglected my understanding of how to express simplicity effectively. Don't worry though, I'm always going to be a pipe, wire, strap, plug, pad, bolt, etc-freak. This is just me filling gaps in my skillset I should have done long ago :3
